Speed Limit
Jack looked at the tachometer before slowing down. Where the speed limit was 50, it was going with 73. For the fourth time in the past four months, Jack had been stopped by the police. How could a person be so unlucky?
Jack pulled his car to the right. He thought, "I hope a faster car will pass by." If a faster car passed by, the police would follow him. So Jack could avoid being punished.
The police got out of the car. He was holding a thick notebook. When Jack saw the notebook in the hands of the police, he became more concerned. The police would write a definite penalty, and maybe this time, the police would confiscate his license. Jack knew the police.Bob? It was the police officer Bob he knew from the church.
Jack sank well into his car seat. This situation was worse than a punishment. A Policeman he knew from the church was stopping someone, whether he was a friend. Also because he went fast and violated the traffic rules.
Bob came to Jack's car. Jack opened the window of his car and said:
"Hello Bob. It's interesting that we see each other like this again."
"Hi Jack." Bob wasn't smiling.Meanwhile, Jack got out of his car.
Jack: "You caught me on the way home to see my wife and kids, Bob. "
"Yes it is ." Bob looked indifferent.
Jack wanted to avoid punishment by talking to Bob.Jack continued to speak.
Jack: "I always went to my house too late lately. My children haven't seen me for a long time. Also, my wife Diana told me that we will have potatoes and steak tonight.Do you know what I mean? "
Bob: "Yes I know what you mean. I also know that you broke the traffic rules." Bob replied.
"Alas, this tactic has not worked, it is necessary to change tactics." thought Jack.
Jack said, "How many miles did you catch me at speed?"
"73. Would you please get into your car? And you know the speed limit is 70," said Bob.
"Oh Bob, wait a minute, please. I looked at the Tachometer as soon as I saw you.
I was driving only 65. "
"Please Jack, get into your car," Bob prodded.Jack entered his car in an exasperation, slamming the door shut. Bob was writing something in his notebook.
“Bob, why doesn't he want my license and car license?” Jack thought.
Jack was thinking nervously. He didn't want to meet Bob again. Jack was thinking about not going to church for a long time, in order not to meet Bob again.
Would a policeman write a penalty for his friend? Jack was very angry with Bob.
Bob was tapping the car window. Jack opened the window of his car about 5 cm. Bob handed Jack a paper and left.
"It's not a punishment, ”Jack told himself. He was instantly delighted. It was an article and it was written on the paper:
"Dear Jack, I had a daughter. When she was six years old, she was murdered by someone who was driving very fast. Because of this accident, the man was punished. ıt was a 3-month prison sentence. When this man got out of prison, he was able to hug his own children and sniff them again.
"But I ... I have to wait until I get to heaven before I can sniff and play my girl again. I've tried to forgive the man a thousand times. I thought I did it in a thousand times. Maybe I did it, but I'm still thinking about my daughter. Please pray for me and watch out, Jack, I have only one son left."
Jack couldn't move for about 15 minutes. Then he recovered and slowly went home. When he got home, he hugged his children and wife tightly.
Life is precious, be careful all the time. Drive carefully and show respect to others. Never forget, you can buy as many cars as you want, but you can never buy human lives.
